Dollhouse Miniature Shows in Massachusetts 2011

I created this post so I can keep track of the 2011 miniature shows in and around Massachusetts, but had kept it in “private” view. It was mostly for my benefit, but after a brief conversation with a friend who was looking for this very information, I thought I’d un-private it for everyone’s benefit!

I found most of the links from the CDHM and NAME sites in case you are looking for shows in your state.

As for the shows in Massachusetts, I was hoping to go to the one in Dedham this week, but I have a convention to go to then, so it can’t be helped. I am probably not going to the one in Worcester, because it costs too much and it looks like its just a craft show. Then there is the show in Sturbridge which I heard was pretty big. I am still trying to find someone to con into coming with me lol. The other non-MA shows are sort of up in the air since its a considerably longer driving distance, but if I have the time when its going on, I’ll probably consider it.

If you know of any other show within driving distance from Massachusetts, please feel free to comment and let me know!

Update: Thanks to a comment from Lee, I was informed that the Worcester Fun Day on April 30th is not a show. The $25 price includes a silent auction, yard sale, lunch, a some gifts. There are classes that costs extra. After learning about this, I’m actually considering attending!

I might head up to the one in Pittsburgh. It’s quite a hike from MASS though…

Email me if you go. I know Pittsburgh very well and there are lots of great places to eat. There is a dollhouse store just across the river but it looks like they are one of the vendors.

So how does one of these shows break your bank?

Indeed it is quite a hike. Thanks for the heads up on that dollhouse shop. I do have family in Pittsburgh and I’ll def visit that place whenever I visit them. For the show, I probably can’t go since its coming up so soon and I already have plans for that weekend. But its good to know that you’re in MA too! Now I know who I can bug to meet up at these shows so I’m not so lonely 😉

To be honest with you, I haven’t been to any dollhouse shows yet. I am saving up for the one in Sturbridge. From what I heard, its huge and you’ll be tempted to buy lotsa stuff… I’m already saving up for it and will probably only carry cash. Who knows how much I’d spend if I actually bring my credit card >_<

The Worcester Fun Day is not a show. It is a day of classes, silent auction, “yard sale” and lunch with your fellow miniaturists. Plus you get a couple of gifts. The classes do have additional fees, but are not terribly expensive. I love to go, but can’t this year. I feel that the fun is well worth the $25 fee.
Do you know about theTiny Treasure and Cape Cod Days? Cape Cod is similar to Worcester. Tiny Treasures has a single project that everyone does. I haven’t been to the Cape Cod Day, but the Tiny Treasure Day is lots of fun and lunch is delicious. Also if you are a member of NAME, they are having project days.

Ah, thank you for the info Lee! I’ll make the proper updates. The info provided on the sites I found wasn’t terribly informative and just did a lot of assuming.

I haven’t heard of the Cape Cod Days. If you want, feel free to include the links or emails and I can post up the new information.
