I stumbled on this idea when searching for some dollhouse sized cakes, you know, minifood. But I thought.. we’ve all seen plenty of cakes for dollhouses, but what about a dollhouse made of cakes?
Really, I blame this post on so many silly cake shows on TV lately. So here’s my round up for dollhouse cakes!
The above pictured is a dollhouse cake with the complete instructions and materials needed by Wilton in case you want to do this project for yourself.
If I ever try baking a decorative dollhouse cake, something like the above will be what I’ll attempt first. It’s a no frills block of cake in the shape of a house and but has a back that indicates that it is a dollhouse.
The cake above is by SweetTreatsbyJen.com in Philadelphia, PA.
Another neat dollhouse cake with a 2 dimensional back. This time, with color! By dstippy.
Now this is what I call a dollhouse cake! Only the attic is 3D, but the attention of detail that went into the furniture pieces and even the 2D first and second floors is wonderful!
A more detailed picture of the attic above. I think any miniaturist would love something like this! The cake is by dittle.
An honorable mention is of an actual 2 floor, 3d dollhouse cake by Val. I just can’t link or post it because of copyright and junk. Oh well.
Feel free to share links of any dollhouse cakes you’ve found!
P.S. On a completely unrelated note, I just want to direct your attention to Monica’s A Handmade Blog if you’re looking for custom graphics for your blog or shop. Her work is just adorable!
How fun! So fun to look at them all! C
I agree! I’m going to have to talk some family members on getting me a special cake for my next birthday!
I love this idea!
