The casted miniature modern bookcase in all its glory!

Win a Miniature Modern Bookcase: A Facebook Giveaway

As you know from aย previous post, I have been experimenting with making plastic copies of the Modern Bookcase. I’m finally at the point where I can make them without too much errors and too much time spent on fixing or polishing up the casts. Now, it takes about 1.5 hours to prep the mold, pour resin, release it from the mold, sometimes make repairs, and sand the heck out of it for it to be up to my standards. 1.5 hours might seem like a lot of time (and that doesn’t include the time it takes for the cast to cure), but 1.5 hours vs the 10+ hours previously is a hell of a dramatic improvement.

So with that, I’m happy to announce that the resin bookcases are now available on my Etsy shop for sale!

And to celebrate, I want to giveaway one to YOU!

Horizontal Rule

To be eligible for the giveaway, #1) you have to “Like” the AmazingMiniature’s Facebook page. Heck, you can “Like” it from the Facebook panel on the right of this blog to make things easier! Anyone who liked the page is automatically entered.

If you don’t have a Facebook account (you should get one ;-)) or if you just want a second chance to win the giveaway, you can also enter by #2) leaving a comment on this blog post. Similar to the Facebook option, anyone who comments on this blog is automatically entered.

Linking to my blog is not required, but it is very much appreciated if you do!ย This giveaway is open to anyone around the world and I will cover shipping costs, of course.

Entries will close on November 19, at Noon (EST, -5GMT). All entries will be added to a spreadsheet and assigned a number and one winner will be chosen by use of the random function (not the sexiest way to do a drawing, I know). Please be aware, if you win and I do not have a way to reach you or if I do not get a response in three days, you will be disqualified and I will draw again.

Good luck!

Horizontal Rule

If you don’t want to leave it up to chance, or if you want a resinย Miniatureย Modern Bookcase right now, you can purchase it from my Etsy!

That bookcase is beautiful! You did an amazing job, all that work was worth it and I’m sure they’ll keep getting better. I hope to one day be able to make all sorts of things like that! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m still taking miniature baby steps though, and enjoying every minute! And of course it’d be nice to win the bookcase haha. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Wow, so cool of you to giveaway one of these beauties! I loved reading your posts, but am so glad you’ve been able to get it down to 1.5 hours. That is talent! I’m really looking forward to see what you come up with next. Are you planning on making and selling more of the circle table set (besides the one on etsy now)?

    • Ann November 7, 2010 at 10:53 am #

It depends on how the casted piece comes out and how much time needs to be put into fixing it, but it averages to about 1.5 hours and I’m happy about that too!

For the circle table set, I’m not sure about making the set right now, especially with the tools I have, so I’m waiting to buy a sanding belt before making that decision. And due to the number of pieces, its shapes, and my inexperience, I’m hesitant to make plastic reproductions, so I’m going to have to wait and see.

I am actually going to post up the scroll saw plans as soon as the prototype sells ๐Ÿ˜‰
