I recently joined the Greenleaf forums (I’ve been mostly lurking) and the first person to greet me was Wendy Elaine. From poking around her Greenleaf profile, I was so delighted to see her website and the wonderful dollhouses and custom furniture she has created!

The very first dollhouse she worked on was the massive Greenleaf Beacon Hill. Its funny to think about how I wussed out by starting with the teeny tiny Coventry Cottage and Wendy took the huge Beacon Hill as her first. LOL.

This was her first result.

WOW! Her site even has pictures of the progress of building the Beacon Hill. Wendy has actually finished over 10 dollhouse kits and its really amazing to see the pictures, so I really hope you visit Wendy’s website to check out the rest of her work!

    Wow! What a nice job! My husband’s uncle started this same house for my daughter when she was born and it took him 7 years of Buffalo winters to finish it. He was a woodworker and made a lot the pieces because he didn’t like what came with the kit. He painted each room a different color. Sadly it has never had much furniture or been played with. My daughter is now 26 and has 2 year old daughter. I am thinking of doing the inside. Can you tell me what scale of furniture you used?

      Hi Jeannette, the scale is one inch scale (1″ equals 1′). It was lovely hearing about your family’s dollhouse. Although your daughter may be “too old” to play with it, it can always be passed down! You should definitely finish up the inside!

    I’ve been admiring this doll house for along time, but keep reading comments on its low grade materials. What is your opinion?

      I would opt for the laser cut version if they have the size you want. Other than that, yeah, GL DH’s do require a whole lot of prep to make the material workable. Good luck!
