I’m Seeing Red: A Mini Swap!

I’m Seeing Red: A Mini Swap!

Back in January (or was it earlier?), the wonderful Shopping Sherpa and I had planned on doing a swap for the month of February. I suggested the theme of “red” in honor of Valentine’s day.

Fast forward 5 months later, we have finally mailed our goodies, and mine had arrived! (Hopefully Anna-Maria has gotten her goodies by now too!)

Warning.. lots of pictures ahead! (I’m breaking it into a 2 pages to not bombard you all at once!)

Red themed dollhouse miniature swap with the Shopping Sherpa

I’ve seen her gift swaps before – all packaged and numbered like this, but I was not expecting this at all. Can you imagine my giddiness when I opened the box?

As much as I wanted to, I didn’t rip the wrapping all to shreds. I methodically opened everything neatly and in order per the gift wrapping’s directions:

Dollhouse miniature handmade espresso machine

#1 – First up.. is a cute little RED espresso machine.. love it!

Dollhouse miniature red filing boxes

#2 – Some RED filing boxes

Dollhouse miniature magazine boxes

#3 – Magazine storage boxes

#4 – Magazine storage boxes.. with magazines in them!… and they open too! Looooooove em!

Dollhouse miniature cool files

#5 – Very cool designed files.. wish these came in 1:1 scale!

Dollhouse miniature books

Dollhouse miniature design books

#6 – Books! Lots and lots of design books! (picture above is supposed to be flipped to six.. not nine!)

I think the Shopping Sherpa caught on to the fact that I keep making all sorts of office furniture.. but no office supplies… LOL! Needless to say, you will see a whole lot more of these bits in future pictures!

That’s it for the office stuff…

Dollhouse miniature Kangaroo statue

#7 – A Kangaroo! You will definitely see more of this little guy.. if you haven’t already!

Dollhouse miniature handmade purse

#8 – A purse and wallet! I looooove the texture of this fabric! It looks leathery, but is so soft! (please excuse the yucky, blurry picture)

Dollhouse miniature doll clothes

#9 – T shirts!…. and look who’s couldn’t wait to try them out….

PukiPuki trying on the dollhouse miniature clothes

Dakota: “Thanks Anna-Maria! I finally have something other than this crappy pair of pants to wear!”

Gee thanks, Dakota.

And then…

Dakota: “This is for me, right?!”

Oye.

Anywho.. let’s finish up before he takes more of my stuff…

Dollhouse miniature cool poster board

#10 – And finally, a poster!

All I have to say is WOW! Thanks so much to the Shopping Sherpa (more like the AWESOME Sherpa!) for the gifts! I feel like I have to make something special the next time we swap… I don’t think my gift measured up properly. You have been warned! 😉

Ann, these are all great items!!! They look so wonderful with your furniture. I am drooling all over the keyboard… which is sorta gross since my mouth is currently full of girl scout cookies. 😉 *slurp* Sounds like Dakota may be distantly related to that snarky, sticky fingered Tessie. 😀 LOVERS it!!!!

Dakota is more like the kind that you can’t say “no” to because he’s so darn cute and he knows it!

What a fun swap! all the office pieces, magazines & books are lovely & work so well with your bookcase, + the mini expresso machine is brilliant. The ideas board should look great on a wall above one of your desks (& I’ve always loved that Nick Knight photograph of Sarah Stockbridge that’s on there).

Thanks Bean! I’ve always been meaning to make office supplies, but would rather design furniture. The Sherpa saved the day! And I love that photo too!

What an incredible swap! Well worth the wait, I’d say. Love all the red. 🙂

I agree! And red is (one of) my favorite colors!

Damn: hadn’t noticed I’d cut the Arne Jacobsen book so wonky: let me know if you need a replacement…

Nah, it’s fine for me. I’m more likely to stuff it in a bookcase though!.. since I seem to be making so many of them lately..

Glad you liked it all and glad the T shirt fitted Dakota. I’m thinking he needs a hat (want to flick me his head circumference and height?) I suggest moving the espresso machine before using it: having it so high is a bit of an OH&S issue 😉 And I’m loving my new word for the day: “embiggen”
    • AnnMay 12, 2011 at 12:11 pm
I think he needs hair first! I’ve been meaning to buy him some.. I keep forgetting.. doh! Embiggen is a fun word. I try to use it as much as I can, where appropriate 😉

I just assumed he was a Canteen kid 😉
        • AnnMay 16, 2011 at 4:02 pm
He might be.. I haven’t decided yet! lol
