Has it been only been a week? It feels like its been a month with all the work and pressure! I’m starting to feel tapped out >_<
Feel free to follow my Twitter feed as I announce there whenever I create a new listing.
Anywho, here’s the promised weekly recap on the 31 Days of Etsy Challenge!
Day 1: Modern Minimalist Black Twin Bed
I started the challenge off easy by finishing (finally) the bed I made from this post. I really need to start making bed linens.
Day 2: Modern Minimalist End Table
This was one of the prototypes with the cubes. I just dolled it up to match the bed.
Day 3: Potted Fern Plant with White Base
I included this accessory so I can take a breather from all the furniture making. I’m probably going to include more accessories and decorative items from now on!
Day 4: Translucent Amber Cube Bookcase
Another prototype with the cubes. It is very similar to a swap with the Shopping Sherpa seen here. This is pretty much going to be style of the shelving unit, only except with white cubes and unfinished wood.
Day 5: Translucent Baby Blue Bookcase/Room Divider
This is the ONLY blue piece in my tinting experiments that turned out well. I was going to keep it, but I’m not a big fan of pastels and I was not sure what I’ld be using it for. So bye, bye shelf.
Day 6: IKEA Inspired VIKA Desk
I’m very pleased at how this turned out, though it was rather delicate work (more so than what I’m used to). I had to build a gluing jig to get the legs at a uniform angle. And if you’re wondering, the trestles are made with my sticks (other than using them as floors). More stick furniture and accessories to follow.
Day 7: Modern Minimalist Dining/Kitchen Table
I really LOVE this table. Simple, but cool. I’m thinking of building something similar for the dining area in the Nyne.
Brrrrrrr Its Cold!
I drafted a whole slew of furniture plans to build, but like 95% of them require use of my scroll saw. With the saw being in the garage and the garage being around 30 degrees, I can’t use it for more than 10 minutes before my fingers get all numb. So I had to be a bit more creative in terms of what to build, hence why there will be more stick furniture and stuff coming. At least then, I can just use a cutting mat and an Xacto knife while sitting in front of the fireplace!
Also, Lyssa has been busy mini-ing many cool art pieces for her 31 Days of Etsy, so be sure to check out her Etsy shop for her goodies!
Wow, you ‘ve done a wonderfull stuff! I just love both tables and the amber shelf! Good luck in selling them to some nice people :^-)
Thanks again for the kind comment Bizianka!
Why not just move the saw into the house? Mine lives in the kitchen: a very sensible place for it, I think (but then again, I do live alone…)
I LOL’d at that idea. I have other people in the family that would probably throw me out of the house if I did that! They’re annoyed enough with my taking over the whole dining table =X
I feel like you have been much more adventurous in your mini making for this challenge! But I do have munchkins to tend to and such… and the late night cold has not been helping at all. Must get space heaters.
Fab stuff so far!!! I have an ever growing wish list. 🙂
Thanks my dear!
Love the bed and VIKA desk especially! :] Very nice work!
Thanks kindly Brae!
