My Greenleaf Coventry Cottage arrived today. Hip hip hooray!
This kit was chosen as my very first dollhouse to build because it’s small, relatively inexpensive, it includes furniture, shingles, and is just an overall great starter build.
I will be working on a few of these smaller kits to get a bit more experience in building, finishing, and furnishing before I work on a nice big three story house for myself. For the Coventry cottage, I will be making some minor modifications such as siding or stuccoing to learn more about doing so.
I’m not sure what the exterior or the interior will look like, or what purposes it will serve quite yet. I am just going to play it by ear.
Looking ahead a bit, I know that the “practice” kits I build after I complete the Coventry Cottage will be given away to my nieces or some charity. But I am still undecided as to whether or not to keep this dollhouse for sentimental reasons, because it’s my first build, after all. I suppose we’ll see how it turns out.
I’ll post updates on this build as I start working on it tomorrow!
